Matches between South Africa and England have often produced good cricket, and are always popular with players and spectators alike. South Africa vs England is an historical review of Test cricket played between the two countries from 1889 to 1994, and contains over 400 black-and-white photographs featuring the great moments and players. All the major scores and match reports are also included. This book will appeal to anyone who has an interest in the history and drama of South Africa-England Test cricket.

Many South Africans joined English County sides and performed well, while several English cricketers stayed behind after tours and helped to develop South African cricket.

Politics prevented probably the finest-ever South African side from performing in England, but the massive changes announced by (the then) President de Klerk in 1989 encouraged the racially separate South African cricket authorities to join together and gain readmittance to the ICC. England 'A' toured South Africa in 1993/94, and England is due to tour South Africa from October 1995 to January 1996.
